THE STORY
My fellow Burgerist and co-worker Adam, claims this to be his favorite burger and has been going here since he was a child. While in Toronto he asked if we could eat down memory lane and visit the burger shack. Located on the North side of Toronto, the Burger Shack serves up souvlaki, falafel, fries, onion rings and of course BURGERS!

THE BURGER
Adam took the liberty of ordering his fave for me, Burger Deluxe with bacon, an order of fries, rings and a "pop," a word I haven't used to describe soda since I left Michigan in 1996. The burger comes on a toasted bun with cheese and bacon. The rest of the toppings are up to you and are conveniently placed on the burger in the toppings firing line. Burger Shack is no frills, no fuss, old school burgers. Sharing Adam's excitement, I bit right into this nicely sized bad-boy. Pretty good! Juicy, not too greasy, flavorful and with thick cut bacon, this was a decent sammich. The fries were thick cut with the skin still on and well done, does it get any better? Not once you put on some malt vinegar or as I like to call it "invisible sauce." The real winner here are the fresh battered onion rings. Crispy on the outside and well done on the inside so there is no stringy onion bites.

This is a great rainy Saturday afternoon burger.

  2. Next time I'm in Toronto, I'll be sure to check this place out! Yummm, burgers.

If you're ever in San Diego, you have to visit and do a piece on Burger Lounge. It's really popular among San Diegans--thick, juicy, grass-fed beef. DELISH!!! You'll definitely fall in love with it; perhaps migrate your blog to San Diego?? ;)
